Kate Moss accepted Jamie Hince's marriage proposal after he agreed to start a family.

The supermodel - who is believed to have got engaged to The Kills guitarist while the pair were in Paris, France, last month - decided to wed Jamie when he agreed they could have children.

A source said: "These promises to have children and be there for Kate and her daughter Lila made Kate realise how serious he was. Jamie is besotted with Kate and desperately wanted her to become his wife. He realised he needed to show his commitment and spell out how he saw their future."

Kate, who has a five-year-old daughter Lila with ex-boyfriend Jefferson Hack, was also encouraged to go ahead with wedding plans after her mother Linda persuaded her she was making the right decision.

The source added: "Linda has been encouraging her to settle down. Linda is a massive fan of Jamie and thinks he is a great influence on Kate."
