Colin Farrell says his new movie nearly killed him.

The 'In Bruges' actor has revealed being forced to re-shoot one high-octane scene - in which he smokes during a car chase through the Belgian city - took its toll on his health.

Colin, who plays a hit man in the film, said: "I was dying after the first take. It is shameful. I am black on the inside."

Director Martin McDonagh admits he put the actor through unnecessary stress, explaining: "I think we ended up using the first take."

Colin added jokingly: "Well thanks for making me do the second one, you b*****d."

The 31-year-old Irish star also insists he has no regrets about his movie career and refuses to dwell on the past.

Colin said: "It would be a waste of my f***ing time wishing for things in the past. It would be nice though to read a few more scripts like this in the future. It sets the bar fairly high."
