Cynthia Nixon has joined forces with the breast cancer organization Susan G. Komen for the Cure and is going public with her own battle with breast cancer. Nixon, who is reprising her role as Miranda in HBO's "Sex and the City" in an upcoming movie, had a lumpectomy two years ago and then underwent 6 1/2 weeks of radiation. "As the daughter of a breast cancer survivor, knowing my personal risk made me more aware and more empowered when I faced my own diagnosis," the 42-year-old actress said in a statement. (AP)

A no-show for trial
Austrian authorities searched yesterday for a woman who failed to appear for the start of her trial on charges of stalking and threatening to kill "CSI: Miami" star David Caruso. A judge signed a warrant for the woman's arrest after she failed to show up for the trial in Innsbruck, Austrian media reported. The Tiroler Tageszeitung newspaper said her lawyer had reassured authorities last week that she intended to be in court. Prosecutors allege the woman sent more than 100 letters to Caruso and pursued the actor for an autograph. They said Caruso received death threats after refusing to give her the autograph. (AP)

Order extended
A temporary restraining order against Britney Spears' friend Sam Lutfi was extended yesterday in Los Angeles after an attorney told a judge all parties had agreed on the matter. Lutfi was not at the hearing, but attorney Vivian Thoreen said Spears' father, James, Lutfi, and Andrew Wallet, an attorney who is co-conservator of Britney Spears' estate, agreed to continue the hearing on the restraining order to July 31. (AP)

Stewart's dog dies
Martha Stewart's dog Paw Paw, who was a familiar face on her television show and in her magazine, has died of renal failure. The 60-pound chow was almost 13. "Paw Paw was a spectacular chow and an even more spectacular dog," Stewart wrote in a blog post about his Saturday death. "He was always my loyal companion." (AP)

Police request charge
Police are asking the Orange County district attorney to file a misdemeanor child endangerment charge against Richie Sambora, who had two children in his car when he was arrested for investigation of drunken driving last month. He is scheduled to be arraigned May 7. (AP)
