Kate Hudson says motherhood has made her more patient.

The 'Fool's Gold' actress, who has a four-year-old son Ryder Russell with her ex-husband Chris Robinson, has learnt to slow down and enjoy life since having a child.

She said: "I'm very impatient. I like to get things done. I move fast. Patience has been something Ryder's been teaching me. Your children teach you so much.

"You recognise the things you do directly affect your children. It hopefully allows you to be more conscious of them and yourself and your actions."

Kate, 29, admits time has considerably sped up since she gave birth to Ryder and she can't believe how quickly he is growing up.

She added: "When you have kids, it goes so fast. I felt like I was pregnant last weekend, but he's four now and he's talking and he's gathering his ideas and learning who he is.

"Your life becomes about your children. I wake up every morning and I hear his voice, and that's my favourite thing in the world. There's nothing like it."
