It's always nice to see famous faces at a Celts game, but where were these people when the team was tanking? Celebs scoring sweet seats at the Garden for last night's Game 5 against the Cavs included: Jay-Z and bride Beyoncé; Warner Music kingpin Kevin Liles; New Kid Donnie Wahlberg; teen sensation JoJo; actors Rob Lowe, Jonah Hill, and Louis C.K.; former Celtics Antoine Walker, M.L. Carr, K.C. Jones, and Jo Jo White; and Pats players Matt Cassell, Lonie Paxton, Richard Seymour, Ty Warren, Ben Watson, Vince Wilfork, and Victor Hobson.
A jewel of a cause
When Italian Consul General Liborio Stellino arrived at yesterday's Party in the Park luncheon to benefit the Emerald Necklace Conservancy, he was warned by event chair Lynn Dale that he was outnumbered. There were only a couple dozen men, you see, among the 800 attendees of the afternoon affair held under a tent on the Back Bay Fens. Also spotted in the sea of hat-clad women were former governor Mike Dukakis and his wife, Kitty, Mayor Tom Menino, and Franklin Park Zoo big dog John Linehan. Also on hand: philanthropists Joan Bennett Kennedy, Lillie Johnson, and Helen Spaulding, 29 Newbury owner Debbie Lewis, real estate hotshot Beth Dickerson, and former WBZ-TV anchor Sara Underwood.Gang of Four now two
And then there were two. Gang of Four drummer Hugo Burnham reports that he and bassist Dave Allen have left the protean post-punk band for good. The British Burnham, who lives in Gloucester and teaches at the New England Institute of Art, says singer Jon King and guitarist Andy Gill will carry on and are planning to record new music. "It was a great couple of years of intermittently reminding people old and new, far and wide, just how powerful the original four of us were together," says Burnham, who's about to start work on his doctorate. Not to worry, though, he isn't giving up music completely. He's writing and recording with Boston noise merchants the Bags and former Minuteman bassist Mike Watt.Carell aids Dana-Farber
"The Office" star Steve Carell will be in Boston June 19 to host a screening of his new film, "Get Smart," to benefit the Zachary Carson Brain Tumor Fund at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Carell learned about the charity through Carson, a 19-year-old with an inoperable brain tumor who died in September. In June, Carell joined Carson for a red-carpet screening of "Evan Almighty" that raised money for Dana-Farber. The "Get Smart" soiree will be at the Citi Performing Arts Center Wang Theatre.

Just when he's declared himself to be a singer again, Donnie Wahlberg lands a plum acting role. The New Kid and director Jon Avnet are teaming with TNT to create a crime drama about a young war hero who becomes a Boston-based Drug Enforcement Administration officer. Wahlberg will star in the series, tentatively titled "Morse Code," and former "Law & Order" writer/producer Walon Green is writing. Michael Wright, TNT's top programmer, likened the project to "The Departed," with the commingling of law enforcement and organized crime. Wahlberg and No top grade for model student
Fatima Siad, the 22-year-old Boston student on America's Next Top Model, didn't make the final cut on the show's season finale last night. The model (above), who was born in Somalia and came to the United States when she was 7 years old, stood out because of her energy and her resemblance to another famous model: Iman. In the first episode, Siad impressed the judges with her social message. "When I was 7 years old, I was circumcised. It's a very traditional positive thing where I am from," she told the judges. "I am dedicating my life so that no one goes through what I've gone through." Last night, before walking off, she said: "I feel I have accomplished so much. I feel like I am born again. I feel so new. I feel so beautiful. I feel so strong. Trust me, you will not forget about me."Party girls in a do-over
We hear "Bride Wars" stars Kate Hudson and Anne Hathaway have spent the last two days reshooting a bachelorette party scene. Director Gary Winick and his crews took over a couple of Boylston Place nightclubs to film a bit where Hathaway jumps on a male stripper's back after spotting him dancing with Hudson.Johnny Diaz of the Globe staff contributed.
