The Time, the seven-man Minneapolis funk band featured in the Prince movie "Purple Rain," are reuniting, 18 years after their last studio album. The band members are (from left) Jimmy Jam, Jesse Johnson, Jerome Benton, Morris Day, Terry Lewis, Monte Noir, and Jellybean Johnson. Lewis and Jam, who's Kevin Garnett's brother-in-law, left the Time to become superstar R&B producers in the 1980s and early '90s.
McCready arrested
Mindy McCready was arrested in Tennessee and charged with violating her probation. Authorities accuse the 32-year-old country singer of falsifying her community service records. The Williamson County Sheriff's Department said McCready (inset) turned herself in Monday, posted $5,000 bond, and was released two hours later. She is on probation for a 2004 drug charge. (AP)Murray divorced
Bill Murray and his wife of nearly 11 years are divorced. Documents filed in Charleston County in South Carolina show that a judge approved a divorce agreement June 13, barely a month after Jennifer Butler Murray, wife of the 57-year-old actor-comedian, filed divorce papers. Under the agreement, the couple's four children will live with their mother. Bill Murray will have visitation rights and will pay child support. Jennifer Murray also will get the couple's home on Sullivans Island, S.C., and their second house in Hemet, Calif. (AP)Pizza on Carey
Drew Carey really, really loves the pizza from Antonio's in Parma, Ohio - so he's having UPS deliver dozens of the pies all the way to Los Angeles. The Cleveland native often stops at the Parma pizzeria for a pepperoni slice when he visits town. But this time he placed a tall order - 45 pizza pies - to celebrate Saturday's season finale of his CBS game show, "The Price Is Right." The pizzeria's owners say the order will cost Carey $450. That doesn't include the steep price of delivering the pizzas thousands of miles away. (AP)Snipes hoping to work
Lawyers for Wesley Snipes are asking a Florida judge to let the 45-year-old actor leave the country while they appeal his three federal tax convictions. Snipes wants to work on two films, "Gallowwalker" and "Chasing the Dragon," in London and in Bangkok, according to documents filed in federal court. Snipes was sentenced in April to three years in prison on three misdemeanor counts of willful failure to file income tax returns. (AP)Re-forming Phish?
In the wake of increasing chatter that a Phish reunion may be in the cards, keyboardist Page McConnell has issued a statement confirming the group members' plan to meet to discuss their options. McConnell begins by saying how much he's enjoyed the past four years away from Phish, who split in August 2004. However, he admits that he's not only rekindled friendships with the other members but that he's "closer with all of them now than I've ever been in our 20-year relationship." Speculation has lately centered on Phish making a new studio album with producer Steve Lillywhite, who declined comment when asked about the possibility last week.
