Ethan Hawke and wife Ryan Shawhughes' daughter Clementine Jane Hawke was born last Friday (18.07.08).
The 'Training Day' actor and Ryan - who used to work as a nanny looking after Ethan's two children, 10-year-old Maya Ray and six-year-old Levon Roan, with ex-wife Uma Thurman - are "thrilled" with the new arrival, according to his agent Mara Buxbaum.
A close friend of the couple said: "I expect that they should be very good parents. They both love children, and they love each other - I know they are thrilled."
Ethan recently revealed he considers fatherhood to be the most important part of his life, adding: "Maya and Levon are the greatest pleasure in my life. It's the only role that, if I fail, I will consider my life a failure."
Ethan, 37, and 28-year-old Ryan married last month in a secret ceremony.
Ethan was nominated for an Oscar for his role in 'Training Day' in 2001.
He will appear in 'New York, I Love You' which is released next year.
