New Kid Donnie Wahlberg has split with his wife, Kim Fey Wahlberg, after nearly nine years of marriage. They each filed for divorce last week in separate counties in California. Kim Wahlberg cited "irreconcilable differences" in her filings in Los Angeles Superior Court while Donnie's petition was filed in Ventura County. The couple was married in August 1999 and separated earlier this year. The move comes as the New Kids are about to embark on a reunion tour. Wahlberg, who celebrated his 39th birthday over the weekend, also appears in the new film "Righteous Kill," which comes out Sept. 12. The Wahlbergs have two sons, ages 15 and 7.

Tricky in the kitchen
Robin Zander of Cheap Trick headed to Bokx 109 at Hotel Indigo last night, where chef Evan Percoco welcomed him into the kitchen with johnnycakes and seared scallops. (Zander and his son Robin helped out with the chef's creative spin on breakfast.) It's been a celeb parade in the new Newton hot spot recently, with Harry Wayne Casey, a.k.a. "KC" of KC and The Sunshine Band, cooking with Percoco on Saturday and singer Josh Kelley tearing it up last week. The chef said he's cooked with Zander and his bandmate Rick Nielsen before. They've even created terrific ribs together. "They like-a the pork," he joked. "I always ask people what their culinary claim to fame is."

Kerry's different trail
Four years ago, Alexandra Kerry felt like she was moving at 100 mph. Now? Not so much. John Kerry's eldest daughter told us yesterday she's happy not to be on the campaign trail this presidential season. The closest she'll come to stumping is shooting a video for a Lenny Kravitz song that'll be used by the Barack Obama campaign. "They're hoping it will have a viral impact," said Kerry on the phone from Hawaii. "A music video is going to be my contribution this time, not making speeches." Her hectic experience in '04 is chronicled in her book, "Notes From the Trail," which goes on sale today. A photographic account of her father's presidential bid - Kerry's a filmmaker, after all - the book goes behind the photo ops and the media melee. "I try not to focus on the 'what if' thing," she says when asked about how things would've gone if her dad had won. "Definitely, I believe it would be radically different."

Going out in style
Local designer and recent MassArt grad Prajje Jean-Baptiste is promising a blow-out fashion show at Taj Boston to wrap up Boston fashion week on Sept. 19. Fashion Expose, featuring nine designers, will have it all, he says: couture, ready-to-wear, and swimwear. Kosibah Creations is coming from England, Ty Scott from New York, and local designers include Sara Campbell, Sonjia Williams, Julienne Dang, Sparklle Thames, Tiffany Fitzgerald, and Paula Koumoundouros, who's worked for Marc Jacobs. "The intro is going to be absolutely nuts," said Jean-Baptiste. "We're going to have a mass choir to open the show. Everything's going to very avant-garde . . . Very New York, very Bryant Park." Save us a seat by the catwalk.

Major league readers
Red Sox CEO Larry Lucchino and Hizzoner Tom Menino high-fived the winners of the Boston Public Library's summer reading program "Read Your Way to Fenway." Lucchino congratulated grand-prize winner Kevin Rodrigues, 10, who patronizes the Uphams Corner Branch Library, and fellow winner Carey Gleason, 8, from Lower Mills Branch Library. Also honored at Sunday's pregame ceremony were other winners Alphie DeVita, 6, from Connolly Branch Library; Jesse Bland Jr., 17, from Grove Hall Branch Library, and Vivian Herbert, 10, from Charlestown Branch Library.

Cool cash
There were a few familiar faces in the crowd at Sunday's Hot Stove, Cool Music: The Summer Sessions, which raised more than $400,000 for Theo and Paul Epstein's Foundation to Be Named Later. Grooving to Buddy Guy and George Thorogood were Kiss 108's Matt Siegel, House Speaker Sal DiMasi, Giant Glass president Dennis Drinkwater, state Representative Smitty Pignatelli, and the Click Five's Ethan Mentzer and Ben Romans, who were there to see bandmate Joe Guese gig with Peter Gammons and the Hot Stove All Stars.
