The Deutsche Bank Championship Pro-Am golf-a-rama continued yesterday, as uber-boss Donald Trump joined Ken Casey of the Dropkick Murphys and golf pros Sergio Garcia, Vijay Singh, Ernie Els, and Anthony Kim on the links in Norton. Word is the Donald hit a really nice shot off the first tee and tipped his caddy $200, like a rock star. He also generously signed autographs for fans. New York Mayor (and Medford's own) Michael Bloomberg joined a team that included Bob Kraft, Deutsche Bank Americas CEO Seth Waugh, and pro Phil Mickelson. Musician Edwin McCain and ESPN's Sean McDonough and Chris Berman also swung clubs. The four-day pro championship kicks off today.

Can't vote? Good grief!

Our girl JoJo Levesque isn't quite old enough to Rock the Vote; she turns 18 in December. So in the meantime, she's publicizing a mock election site for junior voters, www.peanutsrocksthe vote.com, where visitors can choose Charlie Brown, Lucy, Linus, Snoopy, or Sally for president. "I won't tell you who I'm voting for," says Levesque, in a YouTube PSA. "But I will tell you that my candidate supports the underdog."

Electing to celebrate

The Young Democrats of Massachusetts gathered at Vox Populi last night to watch Barack Obama's acceptance speech in Denver and drink wonky cocktails. On the menu: the Cosmopolitician, Dirty Delegate, and Swing Voter. The organizers' motto: Make Cocktails, not War.

J.Lo provides diss and assist

Bennifer I and II - that'd be exes Jennifer Lopez (right) and Ben Affleck, and Ben's now-wife, Jennifer Garner - were all in the Mile High City this week. J.Lo, J-Gar, and B.A. joined the bevy of celebs breezing through various DNC functions in Denver. Lopez dissed reporters waiting on the red carpet for almost three hours on Wednesday, sneaking in the back door and departing, with a tiny wave, at an event aimed at Latino voters, according to the Rocky Mountain News. (Jessica Alba and Wilmer Valderrama were more generous.) But we can forgive her, since she also hosted a reception for children's rights activist Marian Wright Edelman, right? Meanwhile, the ever-affable Mr. Affleck had a busy week: He packed food for the needy, joined Josh Brolin and Rosario Dawson in readings from the upcoming film "The People Speak," played poker, joined a roundtable on poverty, and hung with Forest Whitaker and Kirsten Dunst at Denver hot spot 5 Degrees Wednesday night. Whew!

Extra credit effort

The team from Emerson College's WEBN-TV isn't letting lack of press credentials stop them from getting stories. The four-person crew of journalism students, who missed the deadline to sign up for official coverage at the DNC in Denver, hopped planes last Saturday anyway and have had a blast covering events big and small. They've managed to talk their way into speeches by Hillary and Bill Clinton, and by yesterday afternoon had secured a few hall passes for the big Obama speech. "We're not really sure what they are," joked co-executive producer Magdalena Parker, from a bus yesterday, with the rest her team, co-producer Kailani Koenig-Muenster, Alison Klein, and Josh Miller. "Sometimes we do pull the student card. We say, 'We're students, we just want to see what it's like inside.' We have to work it if we want to get anywhere." So far, the most interesting event they've covered was Monday night, when protesters convened in downtown Denver and were surrounded by police in riot gear. They've also seen their share of semi-celebs, including Fran Drescher, Wolf Blitzer, the Daily Show's John Oliver, and Anderson Cooper. Check out their stories at www.politicalpulse.net; their half-hour television special "WEBN At the DNC" will air on Winthrop Cable.

Mystery man wins film honors

Actors Greg Kinnear, Tyson Beckford, and Maria Menounos will add a little glamour to the Boston Film Festival, planned for Sept. 12-17 at the Kendall Square Cinema. Cambridge resident Robert B. Parker, who wrote the novel behind the festival's opening film "Appaloosa," will be on hand to receive the 2008 Boston Film Festival Award for Excellence in Literature. "Appaloosa" was directed by Ed Harris and the screenplay was co-written and produced by Robert Knott, who will travel to Boston to honor Parker.

Facebook picture in the works

Get ready for Facebook, the movie. The popular social networking site, founded by Harvard student Mark Zuckerberg with help from friends Andrew McCollum, Dustin Moskovitz, Eduardo Saverin, and Chris Hughes, could be headed to the big screen. Writer-producer Aaron Sorkin, creator of "The West Wing," is in negotiations to write a screenplay about the men who brought us "friend requests." Sorkin, appropriately, broke the news on Facebook, according to the Hollywood Reporter. "I figured a good first step in my preparation would be finding out what Facebook is, so I've started this page," Sorkin wrote. "(Actually it was started by my researcher, Ian Reichbach, because my grandmother has more Internet savvy than I do and she's been dead for 33 years.)" Sorkin's asked users for stories related to the site.

Hotel honcho has a new room

Adam Sperling is checking out of Jurys Boston Hotel, where he was director of operations for nearly two years, and into a new GM gig at the Hotel Commonwealth. The Arlington dad of two has worked in the hotel industry for more than 20 years, and was named general manager of the year by the Massachusetts Lodging Association in 2004, when he worked at the Best Western Hotel Tria in Cambridge.

DJs to mix it up tomorrow

Boston-born DJ Armand Van Helden, who's mixed tracks for bigwigs like Diddy and Janet Jackson, is headed for Marina Bay Beach Club in Quincy, where he and Junior Sanchez will headline tomorrow's all-day Electronic Music Festival, preceding the club's end-of-summer bash Sunday. Meanwhile, DJ Skribble and DJ Slynkee will man the turntables at Shrine at MGM Grand Foxwoods tomorrow night.

Boston to honor Cook
Dane Cook won't get the keys to the city, but he will get a teapot from Mayor Tom Menino Sept. 17 - a.k.a. Dane Cook Day. The comedian will be in town talking about his new flick, "My Best Friend's Girl." (It was known as "Bachelor No. 2" when Cook filmed here last year with Kate Hudson and Jason Biggs.)

Bosworth joins benefit
Cohasset's Kate Bosworth has signed on to appear, along with Jennifer Garner, Casey Affleck, Jessica Alba, Halle Barry, Keanu Reeves, and a bunch of other megawatt stars, in the Stand Up to Cancer fund-raiser, airing Sept. 5 simultaneously on CBS, ABC, and NBC. Bosworth, of late, has been all over the Internet, canoodling with her English model beau James Rousseau.
