Phish back together
Phish is reuniting. Four years after disbanding, the Vermont-bred foursome - Trey Anastasio, Page McConnell, Mike Gordon, and Jon Fishman - yesterday announced three concert dates next March in Hampton, Va., a longtime favorite venue for the band and its loyal fans. Other 2009 dates will be announced later, according to the band's website. (AP)Don't (yes, do) vote
Leonardo DiCaprio, Halle Berry, Jennifer Aniston, Tobey Maguire, Eva Longoria Parker, are among the stars using reverse psychology to get young people into voting booths. In a public service announcement that hit YouTube and other online outlets yesterday, DiCaprio says: "Please, just don't vote." Others echo his plea: "Don't vote." But the stars soon twist the message, saying voting is a civic duty and the only way to effect change. Ellen DeGeneres, Forest Whitaker, Demi Moore, Sarah Silverman, Ashton Kutcher, Courteney Cox, Laura Linney, Natalie Portman, Jamie Foxx, Usher, Kyra Sedgwick, and will.i.am also appear in the video. A lawyer for two photography professionals says seven nude and seminude Marilyn Monroe photos that are the subject of a lawsuit were found in curbside garbage nearly 35 years ago. The pictures were part of a series shot by Bert Stern in 1962 while he was on assignment for Vogue magazine. Stern, 78, claims in a lawsuit filed last week that some of the Monroe film was stolen after it was loaned to now-defunct Eros magazine in the summer of 1962. Attorney Jamie Brickell said yesterday that his clients, photo retoucher Michael Weiss and photo printer Don Penny, did nothing wrong. He said their acquaintance Bob Bryan found the film in a pile of garbage in Manhattan in 1973 or '74. (AP)She's wedded to idea
Melissa Etheridge will wed girlfriend Tammy Lynn Michaels, the singer told celebrity television show "Extra" ahead of California's vote next month on whether to strip same-sex couples of the right to marry. "Yes, we have four children and we're trying to find the right time," Etheridge said when asked about marriage. (Reuters)Klum charges dropped
A judge has dismissed a lawsuit filed by fashion industry veterans who claimed Heidi Klum and others ripped off their idea for television's "Project Runway." US District Judge Loretta Preska said in a written opinion that it was clear the show was developed independently of the two women who challenged its originality. (AP)What if you're dancing?
