As Marcia Brady on "The Brady Bunch," Maureen McCormick projected an image of the wholesome girl next door. But off camera, she spiraled downward into drug addiction and depression. Now 52, McCormick writes about her struggles in a new memoir, "Here's the Story: Surviving Marcia Brady and Finding My True Voice," hitting stores tomorrow. She discusses her romance with TV sibling Barry Williams, her dates with Michael Jackson and Steve Martin, cocaine binges and parties at the Playboy Mansion and the home of Sammy Davis Jr., an unwanted pregnancy, and trading sex for drugs. "As a teenager, I had no idea that few people are everything they present to the outside world," she writes in the book, published by William Morrow. "Yet there I was, hiding the reality of my life behind the unreal perfection of Marcia Brady." (AP)
'Folie' fall out
The Nov. 4 release date for Fall out Boy's "Folie a Deux" is in doubt, according to a post on the band's website, which cites concerns over the planned Election Day tie-in. "Six months ago we thought it would be a fun idea to release our album on election day, but this is not the election to be cute," the post says. "We felt as though rather than making a commentary, we were only riding the wave of the election." Band members said the label has yet to give the finished album a new release date, but if it is delayed they promise "a surprise or two" (one of which has been identified as an
Elvis Costello guest appearance). As another olive branch to fans, the band will play "extremely small club shows" in the United States in November, with tickets sold same-day. (

Baby not M.I.A.
M.I.A. stirred up quite a commotion Saturday night when she performed at the Diesel xXx Rock + Roll Circus in Brooklyn. Dressed in very tight Spandex, she displayed a reasonably large baby bump. And if the belly wasn't telling enough, she confirmed the news to Pitchfork Media earlier in the evening. "I'm creating a baby," she told the website. Over the summer, it was rumored that she had canceled her tour plans because she was with child. The father is fiance and Exit lead singer
