Another day, another dollar. Such is the life of Kim Kardashian, who goes from one paid appearance to another when she's not taping her reality TV show, "Keeping Up With the Kardashians." Reggie Bush's bodacious girlfriend attracted admirers to Gypsy Bar Friday, hosting a party and posing for pictures with a steady stream of wannabes. She bolted Boston immediately afterward, bound for Miami and the Make-a-Wish Ball Saturday night. . . . Head-banging Bruins at last night's sold-out AC/DC show included Aaron Ward, Marco Sturm, Milan Lucic, Mark Stuart, Dennis Wideman, Chuck Kobasew, and Stephane Yelle. Word is Aerosmith's Joe Perry was also in the house.
Third ring for Youk - this time it's gold
Two World Series rings are nice, but nothing beats a wedding band. Just ask Kevin Youkilis, who got married yesterday in Mexico. Engaged for more than a year, the Sox first baseman and his fiancee, Enza Sambataro, finally made it official in front of 120 family members and friends on a beach in Cabo San Lucas, where the couple will also honeymoon. We're told the guest list included a couple of Youk's teammates - Mike Lowell, Big Papi, and Dustin Pedroia, among others - and a few VIP friends such as sitcom star Mike O'Malley and one of the Wahlberg boys. Enza, who briefly dated Ben Affleck back in the day, wore Vera Wang. (Youk favors sweatpants, but we trust he cleaned up for this occasion.) It's Enza's second marriage and the first for Youkilis, who'll turn 30 in March. A Newton native and former BC student, Sambataro is the CEO of Youk's charity Hits for Kids, which raised $1 million last year for children's charities and medical research programs in New England and Cincinnati. The couple will spend the off-season in Arizona, where Youkilis is again working out at the Athletes Performance Institute. Before then, the bride and groom will host a "Family Feud"-like fund-raiser Nov. 29 at Mohegan Sun. Mazel tov. He's her peach no more
Not that anyone expected it to last, but Max Drummey's marriage to Peaches Geldof sure went kaput quickly. England's News of the World reports that Drummey, the 23-year-old Jamaica Plain native who's in the pop duo Chester French, has been dumped by Bob Geldof's 19-year-old daughter a mere 96 days into their marriage. "I just don't fancy him anymore," the paper quotes Peaches telling a pal. Drummey, who's a shaggy-haired Harvard grad, married the model/DJ in Las Vegas Aug. 5.A round of perfection
Several local chefs competed yesterday at the Royal Sonesta Hotel in Cambridge to make the perfect meatball. Called "Ball Brawl," the cook-off included Dante de Magistris of the hotel's restaurant, Andy Husbands of Tremont 647, Tony Susi of Sage, and Jason Santos ofBuzz from Hollywood
Mass. Film Bureau boss Nick Paleologos didn't make the scene, but the Bay State was still a topic of considerable conversation at the American Film Market in Santa Monica. Budgets being what they are, Paleologos took a pass on the annual event where Tinseltown types converge for eight days of deal-making and screenings. "We thought we'd be better served to stay put and work from here," said Paleologos. Still, two made-in-Massachusetts films attracted a lot of attention, namely the South Boston-based "What Doesn't Kill You" and "The Maiden Heist," starring Christopher Walken, Morgan Freeman, and William H. Macy. And the benefits of filming in Boston were touted at a sold-out seminar dealing with tax credits. In attendance, we're told, was Bill Earon, managing director of Coastal Capital Advisors, a Boston private equity and consulting firm that serves the film industry.Grateful fans
Wyc Grousbeck indulged his inner Deadhead the other night. The Celts CEO invited Bob Weir and the rest of RatDog to Friday's Celtics game at the Garden. (RatDog played at the Orpheum Saturday.) Weir, the former guitarist of the Grateful Dead and good friend of onetime Celtic Bill Walton, happily accepted. Said RatDog's tour manager Matt Busch afterward: "The seats were spectacular, Wyc was a terrific host, and it was as great a night off as we've had in quite some time." Weir demonstrated his Celtic pride by donning a Kendrick Perkins jersey for his show's encore. Names can be reached at names@globe.com or 617-929-8253. ![]()
