Madonna has settled her divorce with ex-husband Guy Ritchie. Liz Rosenberg, Madonna's spokeswoman, said yesterday that the sum was in the range of $76 million to $92 million, a figure that included the value of the couple's country home in western England and their west London pub, both of which Ritchie will keep. The couple were reportedly worth some $525 million, the vast majority of which belonged to Madonna. Ritchie had an estimated $35 million fortune. (AP)

Cruise returns to 'Today'
Tom Cruise says he regrets the tongue-lashing he gave Matt Lauer on NBC's "Today" show the last time he was on. Cruise returned to the program yesterday for his first interview with Lauer since criticizing Brooke Shields for taking anti-depressants in 2005. "It's not what I had intended. In looking at myself, I thought, 'man, that came across as arrogant.' " Cruise told Lauer he was glib and didn't know about psychiatry. A Scientologist, Cruise agrees with the religion's campaign against psychiatry and the pharmaceutical industry: "I thought I didn't communicate it the way that I wanted to communicate it." In October, Cruise made a cameo at a Friar's Club roast, joking that Lauer had given him some advice before his couch-jumping episode on Oprah Winfrey's talk show: "Go crazy. Trust me. Trust me. People will love you for it." (AP)
