No good deed goes unpunished. Just ask George Gouldsmith. The LA-based IT manager has been a big fan of the band Boston since "More Than a Feeling" ruled the radio in the '70s. In 2005, Gouldsmith started a Yahoo message board called "Boston Rocks," but he bagged it last year after the site's members began squabbling and Boston mastermind Tom Scholz took exception to some of the posts. So Gouldsmith created another Boston fan board called "CoolTheEngines." But before long, the members were at it again, badmouthing Scholz for his treatment of late singer Brad Delp and other former band members. The result? Scholz and wife Kim enlisted Burns & Levinson attorney Lawrence Green to send Gouldsmith a cease and desist letter. "You have caused a multitude of defamatory statements to be published about the Scholzes on your website. . . . These statements have all been made falsely and maliciously and otherwise with reckless disregard to the truth," wrote Green, who added that he'd seek "substantial monetary damages" unless all references to Scholz and his wife were removed from Gouldsmith's site. "I haven't shut it down yet, but I'm going to this week," Gouldsmith told us yesterday. "It's become very stressful." We couldn't reach Scholz but his spokesperson, Gail Parenteau, had this to say: "Over time, Cool the Engines, via its moderator, has said things and allowed things to be said that were hurtful and untrue. The moderator has been asked to stop, but instead has taken apparent delight in circulating the postings, and has tried to pique interest in the falsehoods."

His biggest fan
Watch your back, Gisele Bundchen. At "Kiss for a Cause" in LA over the weekend, "90210" star AnnaLynne McCord made it clear she's got it bad for Tom Brady. (So what if she's rumored to be dating "Twilight" hottie Kellen Lutz?) While handing out sweet treats to fans with "Lipstick Jungle" actor Rob Buckley, McCord was overheard saying, "I would love to kiss any of the Boston Patriots; I'm obsessed with the whole team." (Give her a break, she's from Atlanta.) She went on to say, "If Tom Brady wasn't with Gisele, I would be all over that." McCord is such a fan that she painted the Pats logo on her nails for the Super Bowl, even though she was rooting for the Cardinals, because she wanted to "represent" for her team. Proceeds from Armani Exchange's "Kiss for a Cause" benefit the National AIDS Fund.

Sister act
We were interested to read in the New York Post that Matt Damon's sister, Sarah Bradford, is an aspiring model who will make her runway debut this week at Alvin Valley's fashion show in New York. Problem is, Matt doesn't have a sister - at least not one he's related to by blood. Bradford, we're told, is the 21-year-old daughter of the woman Damon's dad, Kent, is married to now.

Hudson in Roxbury
Jennifer Hudson will headline Roxbury Comprehensive Community Health Center's annual fund-raising gala at the Four Seasons this spring. The "Dreamgirls" star will kick off a six-week tour of small, theater-style venues in April and will perform in Boston on April 11, event organizers said. Queen Latifah headed last year's star-studded bash. Hudson, an Oscar winner who picked up her first Grammy on Sunday, gave an emotional performance at the awards show. She has been in seclusion following the murders of her mother, brother, and nephew in October.

That spells breakfast
We heart Dunkin' Donuts - and not just because the company serves coffee on every corner in New England. No, DD must be commended for its over-the-top PR stunts - like flying in Vanilla Ice to judge an ice coffee rap contest. Now comes Paul Pierce, flogging the new waffle breakfast sandwich at a hoops shootout with fans at the C's training facility in Waltham yesterday. Instead of playing H-O-R-S-E, they played W-A-F-F-L-E. The winner was 34-year-old Patrick DeBortoli, of Dartmouth.

At Sir Richard's table
Virgin America founder Sir Richard Branson and wife Joan, in town for Virgin's launch at Logan this week, dined with more than a dozen company executives last night at Scampo at the Liberty Hotel.

Haute stuff
Cameron Silver, stylist to the stars and owner of LA's vintage Decades boutique, was in town for a talk with the Museum of Fine Arts' Fashion Council last night. He spent his time here just how you'd expect - admiring Jackie Kennedy's iconic Oleg Cassini gown at the JFK Museum and poking around Newbury Street. Sadly, he didn't do any buying. "I think I will be leaving Boston with just my JFK trucker hat," he joked. Silver brought treasures with him - for sale, of course. In his trunk: a 1965 Balenciaga gown, a 1950s Chanel bracelet, and "an amazing [John] Galliano piece" - with beading and feathers - that Jill St. John wore on the cover of People mag in the '80s. The stylist has dressed lots of stars: Nicole Kidman, Renée Zellweger, Marisa Tomei, Lindsay Lohan, and Heidi Klum. But he confided his favorite folks are a little more normal. "My favorite people to dress are anonymous women of great style," he said.

A 'Jersey' state of mind
Cast members from "Jersey Boys" - including Emerson grad Joseph Leo Bwarie, who plays Frankie Valli - joined Joyce Kulhawik for an onstage interview at the Shubert yesterday. The Broadway musical, which tells the story of how four blue-collar Jersey kids rose to fame as the Four Seasons, opens at the theater in July.

Good sports
Homegrown hockey hero Jeremy Roenick and several of his San Jose Sharks teammates were at The Estate for the "Head Over Heels" fund-raiser and fashion show the other night. Sunday's event, sponsored by Muze Clothing and the Linus Foundation, was a benefit for the Sports Legacy Institute, which studies the effects of concussions and other sports-related brain injuries. Other Sharks at the shindig were former Bruin Joe Thornton, Jonathan Cheechoo, Ryane Clowe, Marcel Goc, Patrick Marleau, Milan Michalek, Joe Pavelski, Tomas Plihal, Dan Boyle, Christian Ehrhoff, Douglas Murray, Alexei Semenov, Brian Boucher, and Evgeni Nabokov. Also there were former Pats Ted Johnson and Christian Fauria, celebrated Olympic swimmer Jenny Thompson, and former WWE wrestler Chris Nowinski. . . . "Frost/Nixon" star Stacy Keach stopped by Sonsie after a recent performance.

MFA curator knighted
Museum of Fine Arts curator Ronni Baer was honored as a knight-commander by the Spanish government last night for her work on last year's exhibit, "El Greco to Velázquez: Art During the Reign of Philip III." Bestowed by Juan Carlos I, King of Spain, the order was presented by Spanish ambassador Jorge Dezcallar at the home of Carlos Robles, Consul General of Spain, in Brookline.

Back to the Garden
TD Banknorth Garden prez John Wentzell hosted No. 4, Bobby Orr, in his box at last night's Beanpot tourney. Also in the sweet suite were Live Nation's Don Law, Reebok's Paul Foster, and Sox exec Larry Cancro.
