Former Illinois governor Rod Blagojevich hosted a morning radio talk show in Chicago yesterday, and he was joined in the studio by the cast of venerable comedy troupe Second City, which is satirizing him in a musical called "Rod Blagojevich Superstar."
The actress who played Winnie Cooper on "The Wonder Years" has gotten married. Danica McKellar, 34, married composer Mike Verta, 36, Sunday in La Jolla, Calif. Her publicist confirmed the marriage yesterday. McKellar, who studied mathematics at UCLA, has also written two books about math. (AP)
Prosecutors say actor Wesley Snipes attended a lavish party in Dubai while free on bond as he appeals a tax conviction. US attorneys in Florida are asking a judge to restrict Snipes's travel outside the United States because he attended the party in November for the opening of the Atlantis Hotel resort. A jury convicted the action star last year of three counts of willfully failing to file his income taxes. He is free on bond while he appeals his three-year prison sentence. (AP)
Natasha Richardson's family has donated the actress's organs to save other patients' lives, according to a report on People.com. Citing a family friend it did not name, the website said Richardson's family had requested her organs be donated after she was taken off life support last week. The report did not say whether any patient had received them. Richardson died March 18 of a head injury that caused bleeding on the brain after a fall during a beginners' ski lesson in Montreal two days before. (AP)
Police in Los Angeles appealed to the public for help in finding the sister of TV actress Aasha Davis, saying the woman vanished six weeks ago after an argument with her husband. Detective Chris Gable told a news conference that Lesley Herring, 46, hasn't been seen since Feb. 8 and her husband, Lyle Herring, had not cooperated fully with authorities. Davis, who has had recurring roles on "Friday Night Lights" and "South of Nowhere," reported her sister missing after discovering she had not been to work. (AP) ![]()
