Madonna's lawyer, Alan Chinula, said she plans to appeal the ruling. The country's child welfare minister had come out Thursday in support of the pop superstar's application to adopt 3-year-old Chifundo "Mercy" James. But in a ruling yesterday, Judge Esme Chombo sided with critics who have said exceptions should not be made for the star. (AP)

The two-hour finale brought back "ER" stars Noah Wyle, Eriq La Salle, and Laura Innes. (AP)

Moore, a popular celebrity Twitterer, was involved in a discussion on the site that began when a user sent her what appeared to be suicide notes. (AP)
