Case not closed in 50 Cent's mansion fire

Investigators said no one has been cleared in a fire that destroyed 50 Cent's Long Island mansion, despite the rapper's claim that he is not a suspect. The rapper, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, said on his website that he has been told he isn't suspected. But Detective Thomas Wieland of the Suffolk County police said, "That fire is still under investigation. It hasn't been closed either way." The fast-moving fire destroyed the $1.4 million mansion owned by 50 Cent on May 30, 2008. The rapper's ex-girlfriend and their 10-year-old son were among six people who escaped the blaze by jumping off a roof. (AP)

Fallon gets degree
"Late Night" host Jimmy Fallon is getting his bachelor's degree, almost 15 years after leaving an upstate New York college to pursue his comedy career. The star will pick up his diploma and speak at the College of Saint Rose commencement today at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center. The college says Fallon earned his degree after presenting a portfolio of his work, satisfying requirements for the remaining credits. . . . Dolly Parton received an honorary doctorate of humane and musical letters yesterday from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. (AP)

Seal and Heidi Klum are expecting a baby girl. The Grammy-winning singer confirmed the news yesterday on Oprah Winfrey's show. He and the German-born supermodel, who married in 2005, have two sons. (AP)

Hollywood star Tom Hanks threw out the ceremonial first pitch yesterday at a Japanese professional baseball game. Hanks, who is in Tokyo with director Ron Howard to promote their film "Angels & Demons," threw a pitch that bounced several feet in front of home plate before skidding past a diving Howard. (AP)
