Photos have surfaced that appear to show actress Jessica Alba defacing Oklahoma City property, and police are investigating. Police discovered posters of a great white shark glued to a bridge and a billboard displaying a United Way advertisement. Messages left with Alba's lawyer and publicist were not returned yesterday, but the 28-year-old actress released a statement to apologize. "I realize that I should have used better judgment, and I regret not thinking things through before I made a spontaneous and ill-advised decision to let myself get involved with the people behind this campaign, Alba said. "I sincerely apologize to the citizens of Oklahoma City and to the United Way." Photos that apparently show Alba gluing posters and posing before the defaced billboard were posted to the site of blogger White Mike but later removed. According to the site, the posters are designed to raise awareness of the dwindling population of great white sharks. (AP)

Miss California loses title
Miss California USA Carrie Prejean (inset) was stripped of her title yesterday by pageant poobah Donald Trump. Pageant leaders said Prejean was sacked because she hadn't held up her end of the agreement she signed when she entered the pageant. "This was a decision based solely on contract violations, including Ms. Prejean's unwillingness to make appearances on behalf of the Miss California USA organization," said the pageant's executive director, Keith Lewis. He complained last month that Prejean was skipping Miss California USA events while speaking out against gay marriage at unsanctioned appearances. Prejean will be replaced by the first runner-up, Tami Farrell. (AP)
