Usher splits from wife

The R'n'B star is said to have been living apart from his wife Tameka Foster - with who he has two children, 18-month-old Raymond V and six-month-old Naviyd Ely - for around a year, and divorce papers were reportedly filed in Atlanta yesterday (11.06.09).

A source said: "They haven't lived together for nearly a year after almost two years of marriage. Usher's primary concern is for his children. He is a great father and just wants to do what is right for them."

Speculation the couple's relationship has been in trouble has been rife for months.

Last November, he was spotted flirting with a group of women in Miami, and was said to have got particularly close to one model.

This February, the 30-year-old singer was shocked to discover his wife had suffered a cardiac arrest while undergoing a cosmetic procedure in Brazil because "had no idea that she was there to have surgery."

Earlier this month, Usher was seen entering a Malibu hotel at 1am with Def Jam Records executive Grace Miguel.

However, Fulton County Superior Court Clerk Tracey Vaughn has insisted there is no record of the divorce petition at the Atlanta court.

Tracey said: "No petition has been filed at this time. We've heard the rumors too but there's nothing in the system."

It is also claimed Tameka is yet to receive the papers.

Usher's spokesperson is yet to comment on the reports.
