John Henry and Linda Pizzuti’s much-ballyhooed wedding went off without a hitch Saturday night. As we told you yesterday, the couple were wed on Henry’s yacht in the afternoon and then partied with about 400 guests - including actor Larry David - at Fenway Park until 1 a.m. (When’s the last time you went to a wedding that had fireworks?) We’re told that Maroon 5, who played a short, mostly unplugged set, may have been given use of Henry’s boat in exchange for performing at the reception. We’re also told Adam Levine and the lads weren’t the only ones who performed. Apparently, Henry’s young daughter sang “Somewhere Over the Rainbow’’ for her father and stepmother during the ceremony, and her performance put Susan Boyle to shame. The couple are honeymooning in South Africa, where they plan to do plenty of sightseeing and also visit AIDS research facilities.

Standing up for her man

Jennifer Love Hewitt joined boyfriend Jamie Kennedy at his gig at the Comedy Connection HuKeLau in Chicopee the other night. And the “Ghost Whisperer’’ actress wasn’t content just to hang around the green room. Hewitt came out and took a few questions from the audience. She’s no stand-up comedian, but we’re told at least a few people laughed at her answers.

A chance to dance with a dynasty

Women lined up at the Sports Authority Training Facility in Waltham over the weekend to try out for the Celtics Dancers. Final auditions for next year’s team will be held next month at the House of Blues.

Pickin' on the 'Prairie'

There were two special Martins at Tanglewood this weekend - Martin Sheen and Steve Martin. The men helped Garrison Keillor celebrate his 10th annual live broadcast of “Prairie Home Companion’’ from Lenox. Martin played his banjo as part of the show.

A Bundchen layette?
Gisele Bundchen sure fired up our Google Alert this weekend when she stopped into La La Ling, a baby boutique in Los Feliz, a district of Los Angeles. Every celebrity website posted pics of Tom Brady’s supermodel spouse exiting the store. Bundchen has neither confirmed nor denied reports that she is pregnant with Brady’s pigskin progeny.

Kids salute Jackson
New Kids on the Block paid tribute to the King of Pop at their show in Detroit the other night, telling screaming fans that without Michael Jackson, there would have been no NKOTB. Later, writing on the boy band’s website, Donnie Wahlberg had this to say: “Michael Jackson was, without a doubt, the single most amazing performer that I’ve ever seen. . . . The fact that his public/private life became a soap opera and a sideshow is more of a reflection of our [society’s] misplaced priorities than it is a reflection of the type of person that he may have been. . . . The fact that his performances, even of 25 years ago, still resonate today . . . THAT is a true testament to his greatness.’’

Hayek samples fiesta
Actress Salma Hayek, who’s on the North Shore shooting “Grown Ups,’’ was hard to miss at the St. Peter’s Fiesta in Gloucester over the weekend. The “Frida’’ star was wandering around the festival, holding daughter Valentina in her arms. Hayek, wearing a black ballcap and accompanied by a bodyguard, bought the little girl an Elmo balloon.

Schilling misses start
Curt Schilling was a no-show at the North Shore Navigators’ New England Collegiate Baseball League game on Saturday. He was supposed to throw out the first pitch at “Strike Out ALS,’’ a night to raise money for ALS research, but there was a scheduling conflict. Schilling had signed some baseballs to be raffled off at the event.

The color of funny
Lexington-native Eugene Mirman, who’s a regular on HBO’s “Flight of the Conchords,’’ was a hit at the Wilbur Theatre over the weekend with his “Conchords’’ costar, Kristen Schaal (a.k.a. Mel). Mirman’s comedy routine included shout-outs to the Burlington Mall and Leominster, a fake Boston.com commercial, and an apology to the crowd at “The Color Purple’’ at the nearby Wang Theatre, whom Mirman feared had been disturbed by the volume of his routine. (Mirman said he assumed “The Color Purple’’ was a gay club.) Mirman was in town just a few weeks ago to give the commencement speech to his alma mater, Lexington High School.

Adoring Doris
Doris Yaffe is a singular character, of course, but at a party last night to celebrate her serene highness’s 80th birthday, there were dozens of look-alikes. Party-goers at the Achilles Project were given Doris masks - and purple boas - to mark the occasion. The guest list included Charles Stith and Deborah Prothrow-Stith, Smoki Bacon and Dick Concannon, Pamela and John Humphrey, Suki and Miguel de Bragança, Thalassa Scholl, Julie Hume and Philip Gordon, Juliana Hatfield, Matt Storin, Colette Phillips, and Lynne Kortenhaus.
