Jackson fans mourn at London concert site

Hundreds of Michael Jackson fans gathered outside London’s O2 arena yesterday to pay tribute to the star on what would have been the evening of his first concert. The fans brought candles and flowers to lay outside the 23,000-seat arena, where Jackson was to begin his run of 50 concerts. Social networking sites and Michael Jackson fan sites had encouraged people to visit the arena yesterday to remember the singer, who died June 25. (AP)

Fawcett friend to share diary
One of Farrah Fawcett’s closest friends, Alana Stewart, is publishing a diary she kept as the actress battled cancer. Publisher William Morrow, an imprint of HarperCollins, says “My Journey With Farrah’’ will be released in August. Some of the proceeds will be donated to the Farrah Fawcett Foundation for cancer research. Fawcett died June 25. (AP)

Romo gives Simpson a birthday bye-bye
So much for Tony Romo’s romance with Jessica Simpson. The Cowboys QB broke up with Simpson on the eve of her 29th birthday, a source told People.com. The quarterback fueled breakup rumors when he and several friends showed up Friday at the Hollywood hot spot MyHouse, and Simpson was nowhere to be seen. Simpson’s representative had no comment, and Romo’s couldn’t be reached.

Seacrest cashes in on ‘Idol’ success
Ryan Seacrest has signed a lucrative deal that keeps him hosting “American Idol’’ through 2012 as well as participating in new projects. The partnership, announced yesterday, provides an opportunity for Seacrest, 34, and his Ryan Seacrest Productions to work with “American Idol’’ creator Simon Fuller on new entertainment endeavors. Although the announcement specified no dollar figure, The Hollywood Reporter pegged the deal at $45 million. (AP)
