Singer Chris Brown will undergo domestic violence counseling at Commonwealth Catholic Charities, a nonprofit social services organization that works with people from all faiths in central and southwestern Virginia. Brown, 20, likely will spend the next year in group counseling sessions learning about control and other relationship issues as part of his court-ordered treatment for beating ex-girlfriend Rihanna. Brown was sentenced in California Tuesday to five years’ probation, six months of community labor, and a year of domestic violence counseling for the February attack, and he must stay away from his former girlfriend for the next five years. Stump fallout
Singer Patrick Stump of Fall Out Boy has been arrested on a two-year-old warrant for driving without a valid license. The 25-year-old was arrested late Tuesday during a traffic stop by Los Angeles police. He was booked on an outstanding warrant for driving without a license and released early yesterday after posting $15,000 bail. Court records show Stump failed to appear on a misdemeanor driving without a valid driver’s license case in Beverly Hills in June 2007. (AP)

Rapper accused
Rapper Juelz Santana is accused of threatening his girlfriend with a knife in his New Jersey home. Teaneck police charged Santana, whose real name is LaRon James, with making terroristic threats and possessing a weapon. He’s free on $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Municipal Court on Sept. 9. Santana’s girlfriend told police a verbal dispute became physical Tuesday. Police said the rapper told officers the woman was the aggressor and she had the knife. (AP)

Actor files for divorce
Eddie Cibrian is divorcing his wife of nearly eight years. Court records show the 36-year-old actor, who has appeared on TV shows such as “Ugly Betty’’ and “The Starter Wife,’’ filed for divorce Monday in Los Angeles. Cibrian and his wife, Brandi, were married in 2001. They have two sons, ages 6 and 2. Tabloid reports have linked Cibrian with country singer LeAnn Rimes, his costar in the TV movie “Northern Lights.’’ (AP)

‘Rocky’ road for A&E
The owners to the rights of the bluegrass standard “Rocky Top’’ are suing the television network A&E over the use of the tune in a crime documentary. The lawsuit claims the network used the tune in a 12-second clip in “City Confidential,’’ even after the song owners said A&E could not use it. The lawsuit is seeking financial compensation. Felice and Boudleoux Bryant wrote the song in 1967, and the couple’s children own the rights. (AP)

Dylan holiday album
Bob Dylan is releasing his first Christmas album, and in the spirit of the holiday season, the legendary performer is donating his royalties to charity. A statement by Columbia Records says “Christmas in the Heart’’ will be released Oct. 13. Dylan’s US royalties will go to the organization Feeding America. It’s estimated that will help feed 1.4 million families during the holidays. (AP)

Gosselin on ‘View’
ABC is adding Kate Gosselin to the list of guest cohosts for “The View.’’ The celebrity mom will sub for regular “View’’ cohost Elisabeth Hasselbeck on Sept. 14 and 15. Hasselbeck is on maternity leave after giving birth to her third child, Isaiah, this month. Gosselin, the mother of twins and sextuplets, costars with her estranged husband on TLC’s reality series “Jon & Kate Plus 8.’’ (AP)
