50 Cent makes violent records to please his fans.

The rapper said the public expect him to make certain records and he has accepted no matter how many albums he produces, he will have to reference his tough upbringing in New York.

Talking about his latest single, 'Crimewave', he said: "For a certain audience some guys can just make straight pop records and it will go to a 40 or 50 million audience and they can just be happy, like their records.

"But because of the public has assessed me in a certain way, they expect from me to have that kind of aggression that 'Crimewave' embodies.

"And they are looking for that. Even if you have a big hit record like 'P.I.M.P' they still want the 'Crimewave' record, they still want that record that feels like the environment I grew up in feels like."

The rapper, 34, says he accepts his position in the hip-hop world and is happy to keep making hits that please his hardcore fanbase.

He added to BANG Showbiz: "It doesn't put pressure on me because I have assessed it. If they place those standards on you, you got to make the adjustments."

50 stars in British gangster film 'Dead Man Running', and is releasing his album 'Before I Self Destruct' next month.
