Danny Dyer feels he has "let down" his family after his cars were stolen.

The British actor says he, girlfriend Joanne Mas and their two daughters, have been left terrified by the incident, which saw thieves break into his gated estate in Essex, UK, and took his luxury Mercedes A-Class and black Porsche Cayenne vehicles.

He said "It's the lowest point of my life. I've never felt like this before.

"My 13-year-old daughter is really scared and upset. She feels unsafe in her own home. I feel I've let them down as a father."

Danny's Porsche was later found abandoned by police, and the 'Adulthood' star credits his "laziness" with the thieves being unable to make a getaway in the vehicle.

He told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "Luckily I'm lazy and I didn't fill it up so they probably panicked and just dumped it."

Danny recently said he is desperate to shed his "hardman" image and land more diverse film and TV roles.

He said: "Ideally I'd love to play against type and not always be the hard man."
