A doctor says the death of actor James Woods’s brother could have been prevented if he had been given proper care at a Rhode Island hospital. Michael Woods suffered a heart attack at Kent Hospital on July 26, 2006, after he arrived at the emergency room complaining of a sore throat and vomiting. He was 49. James Woods, the administrator of his brother’s estate, has sued on behalf of his teenage nephew Peyton, Michael’s son. Jeffrey Garrett, a Pittsburgh cardiologist, testified yesterday that Michael Woods should have been given aspirin and beta blockers after an electrocardiogram revealed an abnormal heartbeat.

‘Dancing’ ratings drop
An estimated 19.2 million people watched Donny Osmond win “Dancing With the Stars’’ - the smallest audience for the show’s finale since the first season. This was the ninth edition of the contest, one of television’s most popular shows. The Nielsen Co. says ratings have been down all season for the show. Osmond competed during the show’s finale Tuesday against singer Mya and Kelly Osbourne, daughter of rock star Ozzy Osbourne.
