Julian Casablancas believes his solo LP saved The Strokes.
The rocker - who released his solo album 'Phrazes For The Young' earlier this year - says the band needed a break from each other and are now more relaxed about making another Strokes LP.
He said: "Everyone's more easy going, everyone feels more confident and we all seem to trust each other a bit more.
"I had stuff that I wanted to do and I think the band wasn't ready.
"Everyone else was doing solo things so I just came to the realization that I had to take the opportunity."
Despite rumors The Strokes were going to split, Julian is adamant his solo venture was only ever going to be temporary.
He added: "I didn't do it because I wanted to be free. I think I just did it because I wanted to do something different."![]()
