Creative writing students at BU got a treat this week when novelist John Irving stopped by to read from his latest book, “Last Night in Twisted River.’’ Afterward, Irving, whose other novels include “The World According to Garp’’ and “The Cider House Rules,’’ sat for a while and signed copies of his work.
