More than 26 million viewers saw Jennifer Grey win the mirror-ball trophy on “Dancing With the Stars,’’ ABC said yesterday. Tuesday’s two-hour finale averaged 24 million viewers. It trampled the competition, beating nearest rival CBS by nearly 4 million viewers. Attention on the show had soared with the continuing success of contestant Bristol Palin. The daughter of politician-pundit Sarah Palin, she finished third. Runner-up was Disney Channel star Kyle Massey. (AP)

Palin lawsuit settled

Gawker Media said yesterday that it is pleased Sarah Palin’s publisher has settled its lawsuit alleging copyright infringement, avoiding “lengthy litigation.’’ HarperCollins sued Gawker on Friday for posting leaked images from Palin’s “America by Heart,’’ which went on sale Tuesday. Gawker pulled the images over the weekend after a federal judge granted HarperCollins an injunction pending a Nov. 30 hearing. The publisher, which had sought financial damages, said Tuesday that Gawker had agreed to keep the images off its website. (AP)

New Travolta baby

John Travolta and Kelly Preston will have a new guest at their Thanksgiving table. A publicist said the couple had a baby boy Tuesday in Florida. Son Benjamin is the third child for Travolta and Preston, who were married in 1991. Their eldest son, Jett, died last year at 16. (AP)

Spain’s Matute wins

Spanish author Ana Maria Matute, considered one of the country’s best post-Civil War writers, won Spain’s 2010 Cervantes Prize, the Spanish-speaking world’s top literary honor. (AP)
