The cast of the movie “Ted’’ — including Mark Wahlberg and Giovanni Ribisi — filmed scenes for the Seth MacFarlane-directed comedy yesterday at the Public Garden. Joining them for the shoot was an oversize teddy bear that served as a stand-in for the CGI bear that will be Wahlberg’s costar in the movie. (“Ted’’ is about a grown guy who’s still close with his childhood teddy bear.) MacFarlane was spotted yesterday morning wearing a motion-capture suit to act out the movements of the bear, and giving instructions to Wahlberg about how to talk to the CGI teddy. Most of the passersby on the way to work ignored the spectacle — but some fans took a moment to snap some cellphone shots. MacFarlane, the man behind “The Family Guy,’’ is not just directing and wearing the stop-motion suit, he’s also providing vocals for the CGI character. And Ted won’t be the first fictional bear he’s voiced. MacFarlane already plays Tim the Bear on his “Family Guy’’ spinoff, “The Cleveland Show.’’
