Opening his mouth in Portsmouth

Everyone’s favorite glutton, Adam Richman, host of the Travel Channel show “Man v. Food Nation,’’ gets his fill in Portsmouth, N.H., tonight. On the episode, which airs at 9, Richman devours a chili dog at Gilley’s and a stacked Sklarmageddon omelet at the Friendly Toast. But the highlight may be Paul “Chappy’’ Chapman, the director of strength and conditioning at UNH, who takes the Slapshot Challenge at JP’s Eatery. What’s that? You eat 15 sliders, a large order of fries, and a shake - 4 pounds of food, in all - in less than 30 minutes. “The thing about our show is the food is excellent,’’ Richman told us. “It’s a delicious calzone that just happens to be the size of second base.’’ Is there anything he won’t eat? “I’m not a big ham guy,’’ he said. “And green peppers. You know what’s good about green peppers? Nothing.’’![]()
