Jeff Stearns’s co-workers think he’s a little crazy - and they have good reason. “The people where I work, they know that when the Wiggles come to town, I won’t be in.’’ Stearns, who is married with three daughters (ages 2, 7, and 9), is an extreme fan of the Australian children’s act. He travels hours to see them - yesterday he drove from his home in Charlestown, N.H., to catch their show on the Cape - and can tell all of the Wiggles apart. That’s why Stearns was chosen to take the stage with the group today as “The Fifth Wiggle.’’ He won a “Fifth Wiggle’’ contest - which the Wiggles have been running for all their tour dates to celebrate their 20th anniversary - by submitting a video of himself to the group. Stearns has his big performance today at the South Shore Music Circus in Cohasset. He’ll be singing “Fruit Salad.’’ Stearns says that he fell for the Wiggles when he took his kids to a show in Manchester, N.H., in 2004 and Murray - the Wiggle who wears red - came into the audience near Stearns’s “nosebleed seats’’ and met Stearns and other fans. “To me, that was pretty good. Usually, if you go to Bon Jovi or something, they don’t come into the audience.’’ Stearns wasn’t sure what he’d be wearing onstage. He said performing parents have been showing up in T-shirts that say “I’m the 5th Wiggle.’’ “Ironically,’’ he told us, “I already have one.’’
