The cast and creative team of “The Gershwins’ Porgy and Bess’’ are out and about as they get the ART production ready. (The show opens in previews Aug. 17.) Shelly Nemirovsky hosted the dinner the other night for actress Audra McDonald, who plays Bess, and Norm Lewis, who plays Porgy, as well as ART artistic director Diane Paulus and sponsors and board members Don Ware, Paul Buttenwieser, Phil Burling, Rachael Goldfarb, Erin Gilligan, and Dan Mathieu. Also there were Greg and Dina Selkoe of Karmaloop, and Ted Cutler, who shared his memories of meeting Billie Holiday in Boston after she performed “I Loves You Porgy.’’ The night before, Lewis was the special guest at Get Konnected!, a business networking event hosted by PR maven Colette Phillips. Others in the room included Boston New Fund president Kirk Sykes, Blue Cross Blue Shield VP Jack Myers, Massachusetts’ first daughter Sarah Patrick, and the Boston Harbor Association’s Vivien Li.
