The Red Sox aren’t the only hometown team “Boston’’ Rob Mariano roots for. The Canton native, who finally won “Survivor’’ on his fourth try, was filming his latest reality show “Around the World in 80 Ways’’ - it premieres on the History channel this fall - when the Bruins were in the Stanley Cup playoffs. “We were in Africa and I was watching it on the Internet at like 5 a.m.,’’ he said. But how deep is Mariano’s love for the Sox? Or more specifically, how linked is his image to that ever-present Sox cap? “Let’s put it this way,’’ he says. “The hat fell off while I was on a speedboat in Dubai - into the Persian Gulf - and production shut down for a day and a half so we could get another one shipped in.’’ Mariano is in LA to promote “Around the World,’’ which chronicles his circumnavigation of the globe by way of ostrich and rickshaw, among means of transport. He told us he and wife Amber Brkich Mariano and their kids are heading back to the Hub in September for an extended vacation. “We try to get home as often as possible,’’ says Mariano who hopes to hit Fenway, the North End, and his uncle’s bakery in Readville.
