The last time we saw actor Nestor Carbonell he was catching the final flight off of “Lost.’’ This week, we ran into him at the Television Critics Association press tour in Beverly Hills, Calif. Carbonell, who costars with Sarah Michelle Gellar on the new CW drama “Ringer,’’ was born in New York, but told us he feels like an honorary Bay Stater because he went to Deerfield Academy and Harvard. Carbonell said the theater program at the World’s Greatest University was a little underwhelming so he got a degree in English. “[The theater program] had basically one class and that’s where Matt Damon and I became good friends,’’ he said. Carbonell was a sophomore when Damon was a freshman and he says they did every play they could. And when they see each other now they say, “I knew you when!’’ He was sorry to miss his recent 25th reunion at Deerfield, but had a good excuse: He was shooting “The Dark Knight Rises’’ in London, reprising his role as the mayor of Gotham city. He’s also putting his degree to use, writing scripts for both film and television.
