Faxon in Fox show
You may know his face from films such as “Beerfest’’ and “Bad Teacher,’’ but this fall, Nat Faxon, who grew up in Manchester-by-the-Sea, will make a name for himself on “Allen Gregory,’’ the new Fox animated comedy starring Jonah Hill. Faxon, a former member of the Groundlings improv troupe, will voice a character on the show, which premieres Oct. 30. Faxon, who spoke with the Globe at a party for reporters at the Television Critics Association Press Tour in LA last week, admitted that he’s had a pretty great few years. He co-wrote the script for the George Clooney film “The Descendants,’’ which premieres at the Toronto International Film Festival this fall, and appeared in the “Mad Men’’ spoof “MA Men’’ with Joey McIntyre. “I was on Martha’s Vineyard visiting a friend and we were on a Frisbee golf course and some dude gave me a shout out to ‘MA Men’ and I was like ‘that beats every other shout out for anything I’ve done,’ ’’ Faxon said with a laugh.
