French actress joins ‘R.I.P.D.’ cast
“R.I.P.D.,’’ the ghost cop movie that films in Boston this month, has added another star to its roster - Stephanie Szostak, a French actress who has had roles in “The Devil Wears Prada,’’ “Dinner for Schmucks,’’ and the yet-to-be-released “We Bought a Zoo’’ with Matt Damon. In “R.I.P.D.,’’ which stands for “Rest In Peace Department,’’ Szostak will play the wife of Ryan Reynolds, whose character, a deceased police officer, must investigate his own murder. No word yet on locations for the film, but local actors have started auditioning for minor roles. The movie will also star Jeff Bridges, who’ll play a cop from the Wild West, and Kevin Bacon, who’ll be the villain. Bacon recently told Josh Dickey, of Variety, that his bad guy in the movie will be a “corrupt Boston cop.’’![]()
