Longtime Boston Globe photographer Bill Brett and his daughter, Kerry, who also photographs notables and celebrities about town, gave us an early look at portraits that will appear in their new book, “Boston: Inspirational Women,’’ which will be released this fall. The collection of images, which includes a foreword by Hill Holliday’s Karen Kaplan and text by former Globe writer Carol Beggy, features unique shots of Boston A-listers such as Hyde Park-bred actress Maura Tierney, Bill Belichick’s girlfriend, Linda Holliday, rocker Kay Hanley, funny lady Rachel Dratch, WGBH’s Callie Crossley, and do-gooder Carolyn Mugar. Bill and Kerry dedicated the book to Beggy, who was treated for cancer while writing copy for the project. Inspiring indeed.
