My Morning Jacket’s Jim James (left) and Carl Broemel set up in the MFA’s Dutch and Flemish Gallery over the weekend to play a short acoustic set for WFNX-FM listeners. (The band performed for several thousand more people at the Bank of America Pavilion later in the day.) At the MFA, WFNX DJ Fletcher asked James about My Morning Jacket’s recording process. James responded with a plea for universal health care. Undeterred, Fletcher then asked if the band prefers working in the studio or playing live. James smiled and began to talk about immigration. The crowd laughed, and James and Broemel left.
