While the Vineyard celebrates the president, Nantucket and shore towns around New England are throwing their own parties. Attorney Danielle deBenedictis, Bob Crowe, and Vicki Kennedy hosted a benefit in Crowe’s garden over the weekend for Representative Bill Keating. The party drew Senator John Kerry, deBenedictis’s 90-year-old father, Dan (who was an assistant DA under Keating before he retired), Nantucket author Nate Philbrick and his wife, attorney Melissa Philbrick. . . . In Rhode Island, former Rocca chef and “Top Chef’’ contestant Tiffany Faison hung out with Jordan Caterers chef Kevin Cottle at the Newport Winefest. . . . In Mashpee, friends of the president (Senate President Therese Murray, that is) gathered at PR boss George Regan’s place. The benefit for Murray drew about 75 people including retail maven Mal Sherman, 99 Restaurant’s marketing guy Brad Schiff, and former representative Bill Delahunt.
