Jamaica Plain hosted its first-ever JP Music Festival, which featured acts with local connections and drew about 1,000 spectators. Artists who performed during the inaugural event on Saturday included Violent Femmes frontman Gordon Gano, who joined festival organizer Rick Berlin and the Nickel & Dime Band onstage for a few songs. Gano’s sister is a longtime JP resident.
