Sox slugger Adrian Gonzalez and his wife, Betsy, took a few hundred Red Sox Scholars back-to-school shopping at the Target in Dorchester the other day. Gonzo and his wife, who gave $100 gift cards to each of the kids, were joined by Boston school Superintendent Carol Johnson, Sox CEO Larry Lucchino and COO Sam Kennedy, and the first baseman’s brother David Gonzalez. The scholars range in age from seventh-graders to college sophomores. The outing was good practice for the couple as Betsy is pregnant and they are expecting their first child.
