Stoughton native Kenny Wormald and dancer-singer Julianne Hough, who star in the soon-to-be-released reboot of “Footloose,’’ have been in Boston for the past few days promoting the film. On Tuesday night the pair attended a sneak preview of the film at Regal Fenway and answered questions from the audience, which included a pack of Wormald’s hometown friends and family. Yesterday the stars visited the Boston Arts Academy where they met with dance students and talked about the film. Wormald has confirmed that, because of his Boston accent, “Footloose’’ producers decided that his character would be from Massachusetts instead of Chicago, where Kevin Bacon’s character is from in the original.
