Harvard grad, jewelry designer, and philanthropist Joan Hornig was in Newton the other night for Lasell College’s celebration of her philanthropy and her accessories. Hornig makes jewelry and then donates all of the proceeds to charities chosen by her clients. Her designs have been worn by a long list of celebs including Tina Fey, Cameron Diaz, Amy Poehler, Minka Kelly, and Olivia Wilde. Last week’s party for Hornig’s “Philanthropy Is Beautiful’’ collection took place at the Yamawaki Art & Culture Center, where the jewels can be seen through Oct. 11.
