The documentary about Gloucester’s so-called pregnancy pact premieres this weekend on Prescreen.com, the new online movie distribution platform begun by ex-Groupon executive Shawn Bercuson. Called “The Gloucester 18,’’ the film by John Williams focuses on the media firestorm that erupted, here and elsewhere, after it was revealed in 2008 that 18 Gloucester high-school girls were pregnant. (Many of the girls - who were not part of a pact, by the way - speak in the film.) Williams is hoping that the film’s exposure on Prescreen will catch the eye of a movie studio or TV network. Prescreen, which launched two weeks ago, sends users a daily e-mail alert highlighting a single independent film, and viewers can then watch the trailer for free or rent the film for $4 during its first 24 hours on the site.
