Famed shoe designer Stuart Weitzman was at Saks Fifth Avenue yesterday to help the store celebrate the expansion of its designer shoe salon. (Saks is adopting the stylish “ZIP code’’ 10022-SHOE after the New York flagship’s shoe salon.) Weitzman, whose father, Seymour, started a shoe factory in Haverhill in the 1950s, is well-known for using materials such as cork, vinyl, and even gold in the design of his shoes.
