MIT honors Lepage
Canadian director Robert Lepage, who is opening part three of his “Ring’’ cycle tonight at the Metropolitan Opera in New York, is the 2012 recipient of the Eugene McDermott Award in the Arts at MIT. The honor, which the Massachusetts Institute of Technology is slated to announce today, includes an $80,000 cash prize and a campus residency next April. Arts-Emerson is scheduled to bring Lepage’s “The Andersen Project’’ to Boston next March, where it will play the Cutler Majestic Theatre.
