Kingston-based actor Chris Cooper was in Los Angeles over the weekend for the premiere of “The Muppets,’’ which will be released here next week. Jason Segel , who’s related to to the folks who run Mr. Sid’s in Newton, co-wrote and stars in the comedy with “The Fighter’’’s Amy Adams and Harvard grad Rashida Jones . Cooper plays the movie’s villain, Tex Richman.
