Howard Stern, the new judge on the variety competition show "America's Got Talent," did his thing last night. He judged, as he was hired to do, making a 7-year-old boy cry as a result. But hold on, Stern didn't stay stern. Instead, he showed a more compassionate side, joining the little boy on stage and offering some comfort. Check out the clip above to see how it all unfolded. Also, take a look back at scenes from Stern's career, from DJ to judge.

In other TV news ... "Dancing With the Stars" finalist Donald Driver wowed the judges with his rockin' country freestyle routine, and fellow finalist Katharine Jenkins earned a perfect score. Contestant William Levy, along with Driver, also scored high marks, both receiving a score of 59. Watch Driver's dance below and take a look back at scenes from this season.

In music-related news ... Pop star Katy Perry spoke with Ellen DeGeneres on Ellen's talk show Tuesday about her new documentary-concert film, "Part of Me." The "Firework" singer said the project gives a look into her unsuccessful fourteen-month marriage. Perry debuted her newest single, "Wide Awake," an allusion to ex-husband Russell Brand, at the Billboard Music Awards Sunday night.

Stay tuned for ... The "Dancing With the Stars" finale tonight on ABC, and the "American Idol" finale Thursday night on Fox. See more celeb sightings this week at the Cannes Film Festival.
