Mayor Menino isn't the only one against Chick-fil-A these days.
The Jim Henson Company, the company behind the Muppets, "Sesame Street," and other popular puppet franchises, has decided to cut ties with the fast-food chain after Chick-fil-A president Dan Cathy said he is against gay marriage.
The puppet purveyors had teamed up with the chicken chain for a create-your-own puppet kit for young Chick-fil-A customers, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The Henson Company posted the following statement on its Facebook page on July 20.
The Jim Henson Company has celebrated and embraced diversity and inclusiveness for over fifty years and we have notified Chick-Fil-A that we do not wish to partner with them on any future endeavors. Lisa Henson, our CEO is personally a strong supporter of gay marriage and has directed us to donate the payment we received from Chick-Fil-A to GLAAD.
