Tom Cruise turns 50, Katie Holmes spotted out in NYC post split

Tom Cruise has certainly had a busy few months. The actor, who showed off his toned body and an edgier look in May for his latest film "Rock of Ages" (pictured), is now going through a divorce from wife Katie Holmes while also filming the sci-fi movie "Oblivion" in Iceland -- and today the megastar turns 50.

Meanwhile, Katie Holmes, 33, was spotted Monday out in New York City, where she was taping a segment for "Project Runway: All Stars" -- without her wedding ring. The actress and the couple's six-year-old daughter Suri reportedly moved out of the NYC home they shared with Cruise. Check out the photo in this video, where she's looking pretty good post split.

For Cruise, this divorce to Holmes will be his third. He was previously married to actresses Mimi Rogers and Nicole Kidman, with whom he adopted two children, Connor and Isabella. While his children haven't made public statements about their father's latest breakup, Connor took to Twitter Sunday, retweeting a sentiment about family:
